KMGA and NC AI Sign MOU to Support Indie Game Development

The Korea Mobile Game Association (KMGA) and NC AI announced on the 11th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to support the indie game sector by leveraging NC AI’s technology solutions and infrastructure, and by jointly planning technical seminars, training programs, and conferences.

NC AI has previously participated as a speakers’ session contributor at the 2026 AI & Game Industry Forum held on February 27, which KMGA co-hosted with Megazone Cloud and Alibaba Cloud. The new agreement reiterates a commitment to build the game ecosystem through technical assistance and collaborative partnerships that extend beyond mere tools.

Under the agreement, NC AI will offer free credits of its VARCO AI program to KMGA member companies, with allocations tailored to the size of the studio, including small studios and mid-sized developers. Eligible members can apply after authentication.

NC AI chief executive Lee Yeon-su said VARCO is more than a production aid; it is part of an AI-powered development ecosystem for mobile games that covers art, sound, voice, and localization, all supported by an integrated infrastructure designed to improve development efficiency and project quality, enabling more studios to use AI in practical ways.

KMGA president Hwang Seung-ik expressed gratitude for NC AI’s leadership in aiding the indie scene and said the association will work to close technology gaps for small indie developers, reinforcing the sector’s sustainable growth.

For U.S. readers, the collaboration illustrates Korea’s push to mainstream AI in game development and its collaboration with major cloud providers to scale indie production tools. It signals potential opportunities for cross-border tech transfer, partnerships with Korean AI vendors, and possible implications for global supply chains and competition in the rapidly evolving AI-assisted game industry.
