South Korea's LG CNS, Palantir Partner to Drive AI Transformation Across Industries

LG CNS, the information technology services unit of South Korea’s LG Group, has formed a strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies to pursue domestic AI transformation (AX) opportunities. The signing ceremony in Seoul was attended by LG CNS president Hyun Shin-gyun and Palantir founder and CEO Alex Karp, among other executives.

Palantir will provide its enterprise platforms—Foundry for data integration and governance, and AIP, its Artificial Intelligence Platform designed to support real-time decision making—tailored to LG CNS clients. Foundry is described as consolidating dispersed corporate data into a unified environment, while AIP aims to enhance decision-making capabilities through integrated AI.

To deliver on the collaboration, LG CNS will establish a Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team to work closely with Palantir and identify high-value AX use cases across industries such as manufacturing, energy, electronics, and logistics.

The partnership will begin with LG Group as the initial customer. LG CNS said it has completed a proof-of-concept in the quality-control domain of one LG subsidiary using Palantir’s platform, and a formal business contract was recently signed.

Hyun Shin-gyun called the deal a pivotal step in expanding LG CNS’s AX business to a global level, noting that combining LG’s industrial know-how with Palantir’s AI platform could accelerate AX innovation for customers.

For U.S. readers, the collaboration illustrates a broader trend of American AI software expanding into Asia through large, diversified conglomerates. Palantir’s enterprise platforms are widely used in the United States and other markets, and their deployment in Korea could influence regional supply chains, manufacturing efficiency, and data-enabled decision making across multinational partnerships.

Context for non-Korean readers: LG CNS operates as a major IT services and digital transformation provider within the LG Group, a leading South Korean chaebol with interests in electronics, chemicals, and energy. Palantir Technologies is a U.S.-based software company known for data integration, analytics, and AI platforms used by corporate and government customers. The partnership signals ongoing U.S.–Korea collaboration in AI, with potential implications for global tech competition and supply-chain resilience.
